We have access to competent H&S advice as well as the back-up if we need any further H&S services. Continual improvement and development of our staff as regards our safety performance is a major objective of LWH. Our aim is to provide a timely, cost efficient service that above all is carried out to the very highest standards of safety.

In addition to SafeContractor accreditation, we also engage a Health & Safety Advisor who in addition to being experienced and highly qualified in the application of practical Health & Safety within the engineering sector is also professionally qualified in the application of the International Safety Standard ISO 45001:2018. As a qualified auditor our advisor ensures that the very highest ideals are adhered to as regards the Occupational Health & Safety System operated by LWH.

Our external Health & Safety Advisor is Graeme Silk (Tech IOSH). Graeme works closely with the LWH team. He lives locally and has a varied experience in various sectors such as project management, contract negotiation, operational management, hazardous chemical storage and handling, transportation, warehousing, waste management. and safety management. Graeme holds a NEBOSH General Certificate as well as being a qualified Manual Handling Instructor. He also holds a Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board (WAMITAB) qualification and currently owns and operates a successful H&S consultancy, which provides high level safety services to a wide range of clients. Graeme has a unique understanding and experience of the engineering environment and how to apply rigorous safety protocols in order to get the job done on time but with full regard to a high standard of safety.

Graeme is also an experienced ISO auditor and is conversant with the requirements of the International Standards ISO 9001:2015 (Quality), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental) & ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health & Safety).
